Robert Wade is Professor of political economy at the LondonSchool of Economics. He previously taught at Victoria, UCSD, Sussex, Princeton, MIT, and Brown universities. He worked as economist at World Bank (1984-88), and Office of Technology Assessment (US Congress).He is the author of “Governing the Market: EconomicTheory and the Role of Government in East Asian industrialization”(1990), which has awarded American Political Science Association's Best Book in Political Economy prize for 1989-91, now reprinted with new foreword titled “Creating capitalisms”(2003). His interests include world poverty and income distribution; governance of international financial markets; governance of intergovernmental financial organizations.
